Although there has been an increase in fuel costs, which would have raised the rate to $0.2128 per kWh, the FAC will not be adjusted in accordance with the Commonwealth Public Utilities Commission’s FAC stabilization order dated March 6, 2025.
The FAC is one of two components that make up the CUC electric charge, which is strictly for fuel and fuel-related purchases. The second component is the CUC base rate, which has not increased since April 2014 and is used to fund personnel, operations, projects, debt services, and other non-fuel-related expenses.
