GOVERNOR David M. Apatang on Wednesday nominated former Rep. Janet U. Maratita to the Northern Marianas Housing Corporation board to represent the Third Senatorial District and the private sector.

In his nomination letter to Maratita, the governor said he and Lt. Gov. Dennis James Mendiola are confident that she will uphold the mandates and goals of NMHC, further meeting the need for decent, safe, and sanitary housing for individuals of low and moderate income, and providing employment opportunities through housing development in the Commonwealth.

“Your willingness to serve our people in this capacity is greatly appreciated,” the governor told Maratita.

In a letter to Senate President Karl King-Nabors, the governor said he and the lieutenant governor are confident in Maratita’s leadership to uphold the mandates and goals of NMHC.

Maratita served in the House of Representatives during the 17th and 18th Legislatures, representing Precinct 1.
