(Press Release) — The CNMI Department of Commerce, Office of the Insurance Commissioner, in partnership with member companies of the Northern Marianas Insurance Association will host an Insurance Assistance Day on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Mari Bar, Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan.
The event is part of the office’s ongoing consumer outreach efforts following the impacts of Super Typhoon Sinlaku and is intended to provide policyholders with direct access to insurance companies and consumer assistance resources.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and meet with participating insurance companies to discuss insurance claims, policy coverage, deductibles, benefits, documentation requirements, and other insurance-related concerns. Representatives from the Office of the Insurance Commissioner will also be available to answer questions and provide information regarding insurance consumer protections and the claims process.
The event will be conducted in an exhibit-style format, allowing attendees to visit individual insurance company tables and receive one-on-one assistance tailored to their specific needs. This approach provides policyholders with the opportunity to speak directly with insurance representatives and obtain guidance in a convenient and accessible setting.
“Following a disaster, it is important that policyholders have access to accurate information and assistance regarding their insurance coverage and claims,” said Secretary of Commerce and Insurance Commissioner Remedio C. Mafnas. “This event will provide residents with an opportunity to connect directly with insurance companies, ask questions, and better understand the resources available to them during the recovery process.”
Insurance Assistance Day is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
