More NMC nursing graduates pass NCLEX-RN

(NMC) — Northern Marianas College nursing graduates Rheanie Valle and Ghessa Belnas have joined the ranks of many NMC students by successfully passing the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. Valle is a member of NMC’s Class of 2024, while Belnas is a member of the Class of 2025.

Nursing graduates must pass the NCLEX-RN to practice nursing in the United States. The exam tests their knowledge, skills, and abilities to ensure they are prepared to provide safe, entry-level nursing care.

“On behalf of the entire NMC community, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Rheanie and Ghessa for passing the NCLEX-RN and officially becoming registered nurses. Their achievement represents hard work, determination, and dedication to serving our community,” said NMC President Galvin Deleon Guerrero, EdD.

Rosa Aldan, chair of NMC’s nursing department, also congratulated the two graduates.

“Our nursing team and I congratulate Rheanie and Ghessa on achieving their goals of passing the NCLEX-RN. We look forward to seeing them join their peers at the bedside as registered nurses and contributing to our local healthcare system,” Aldan said.

When asked what inspired them to pursue nursing, Valle said her motivation comes from wanting to help others in meaningful ways, while Belnas shared that her family pushed her toward the profession.

“My motivation for pursuing a nursing degree is to help others in need. I want to make a meaningful difference in their lives — not only by helping them physically, but also by supporting them emotionally,” Valle said.

“My motivation for pursuing my nursing degree is my family,” Belnas said. “They inspire me to get through the tough times and to work toward a better future.”

Both graduates highlighted the importance of effective study habits and a strong support system in preparing for the NCLEX.

“There were several factors to my success on the NCLEX, including reliable review materials, consistent practice questions, and the support of my family and friends who kept believing in me throughout this journey,” Valle said. “NCLEX Bootcamp gave me the confidence to answer the questions on the exam. It helped me focus on weaker areas and improved my critical thinking.”

Belnas said she credits her success to the knowledge she built throughout NMC’s nursing program, her review resources, and the encouragement of those around her.

“It is thanks to the information I retained throughout the nursing program, studying using Bootcamp, having faith in myself, and the support of everyone around me that contributed to my passing of the NCLEX,” Belnas said. “I’m grateful for the guidance of NMC’s nursing faculty and my classmates who were always willing to lend a helping hand.”

Both Valle and Belnas also offered advice to NMC students preparing for the NCLEX.

“My advice is to be consistent while studying and take breaks to avoid burnout,” Valle said. “Focus on answering practice questions, understand the rationales for both correct and incorrect answers, and trust the knowledge you have gained.”

“My advice for future NCLEX takers would be to learn your weaknesses, study them, and believe in yourself,” Belnas said.
