Vehicle fire briefly disrupts traffic on Kannat Tabla Drive

A hybrid vehicle burst into flames late Friday morning along Kannat Tabla Drive near Twins Supermarket in Dandan, prompting multiple emergency calls and a rapid response from fire crews and police.

According to Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services Public Information Officer Robert Mojica, dispatch received several calls at 10:44 a.m. reporting a vehicle fire. Engine 1 from the Susupe Fire Station was dispatched at 10:45 a.m. and was en route by 10:47 a.m. Firefighters arrived on scene at 10:54 a.m., and by 11 a.m. the blaze was declared under control.

Engine 1 used approximately 700 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. Mojica said no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Police secured the area and waited for a tow truck to remove the burned-out vehicle so traffic could resume.
