The father confronted his daughter after she skipped classes on March 29 to be with the defendant, Frank Kaneshi of As Teo.
Detective Vincent S. Mareham said Police Officers Antonio Kaipat and Rudolpho Sablan were dispatched to the residence of the minor to respond to a disturbing the peace complaint.
Upon her parents’ urging, the minor told the officers that Kaneshi picked her up at her school on Tuesday at around 7 a.m.
She said they headed to his house where they stayed in his room. She did not return to school until 2:15 p.m. when the defendant dropped her off, the detective stated in his affidavit.
“[The victim] stated that she saw her car waiting for her at the school but when she went to check her car it was gone. She walked home and her father started asking about her whereabouts. Same day, she was brought to the Commonwealth Health Center. [A doctor] administered the examination and found that she had been penetrated,” the detective added.
On Wednesday, the minor had a follow-up interview with the police and admitted that she had sex with Kaneshi four times.
Kaneshi appeared in court for a bail hearing yesterday.
He was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after he failed to post the $40,000 cash bail.
Assistant Public Defender Richard Miller will represent Kaneshi who is jobless, lives with his grandmother and is a food stamp recipient.
Chief Prosecutor Mike Ernest is prosecuting the case.
Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona set Kaneshi’s preliminary hearing for April 7 at 9 a.m.
