Superior Court Judge Kenneth L. Govendo granted the motion to reduce bail to $1,250 from $1,500 which he earlier imposed.
Sahagon is being held on charges of assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
Govendo remanded Sahagon to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the defendant’s initial appearance and bail hearing yesterday afternoon.
Govendo also directed Corrections to closely watch Sahagon.
Assistant Attorney General Shelli Neal represented the government while Assistant Public Defender Matt Meyer appeared as counsel for Sahagon.
Detective Peter Aldan told the court that the victim’s wife called for police assistance on Sunday night.
The incident occurred between 8:30 and 10 p.m. at the defendant’s residence in Kagman, Aldan said.
At the time of the incident, Sahagon was drunk, the wife told police.
The defendant’s son and his girlfriend were inside their room, when Sahagon walked in and started yelling.
The son was sitting on the bed when Sahagon punched him, grabbed his neck and squeezed it.
Another son ran into the room but Sahagon head-butted him, police said.
When his wife called police for assistance, Sahagon slapped her, police said.
