Olngeschang Iked Mengidab
(DPS) — On Sunday, March 2, 2025, at about 12:25 noon, a theft of vehicle incident was reported at the Marianas Variety office on Alaihai Ave in Garapan.
Preliminary investigations revealed that on March 1, 2025, a person entered the Variety office and stole keys that were in a drop box. One of the keys was for one of the company vehicles, identified as a white Mitsubishi Mirage, which was later discovered to have been stolen.
Upon review of surveillance footage, officers identified the suspect, who was known to them from prior incidents.
On the same day reported, at about 2:45 p.m., officers located the stolen vehicle near Lyn’s BBQ stand in Garapan. Olngeschang Iked Mengidab was found to be in the vehicle’s driver’s seat. He later confessed that he had stolen the vehicle the day before.
Mengidab was arrested and booked at the Department of Corrections.
