Man arrested for marijuana possession, trafficking

Judge Perry B. Inos imposed a $25,000 cash bail on Camacho, 42, who was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after his initial court appearance and bail hearing.

Detective Roque K. Camacho said on Jan. 21, at about 2 p.m., Sgt. Eldin Dela Cruz received a call from an informant/witness stating that Vicente Camacho and Peter Magofna were unloading marijuana plants from a Toyota Camry in Kagman III.

Detective Camacho said when he, together with Detectives Steven Castro and Dennis Reyes, arrived on same day at the residence of Vicente Camacho, the Toyota Camry was still there.

Vicente Camacho was with other male individuals, including Magofna, the driver of the vehicle, police said.

When asked what he did with marijuana plants, Vicente Camacho told police he smoked and sold them.

At a tapioca plantation in the area, police said they found more marijuana plants, ranging from one to seven feet.

A total of 38 marijuana plants were seized from Vicente Camacho, police said.

The seized controlled substance weighed approximately 640 gross grams, or 1.41 grams, police said.
