Govendo remanded Steve R. Aguon to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the hearing.
Aguon was arrested on Friday based on the order of Associate Judge David Wiseman.
In his affidavit, Detective Vincent S. Mareham said the Department of Public Safety received a call on Feb. 20, 2010 about a sexual abuse case.
Police said the 13-year-old victim said she was cleaning their house when Aguon came in and started talking to her, and later sexually abused her.
During the same interview, the victim identified another victim of Aguon.
The second victim, a 14-year-old female, said she was walking to her sister’s house in Chalan Kanoa one evening.
“Steven came along side of [the victim] riding a bicycle,” Mareham said.
The victim told police Aguon offered to take her and drop her to her sister’s house.
Aguon then started asking the victim if she had a boyfriend. She said she had none.
Aguon brought the victim to the backside of a building that was close to the Chalan Kanoa cemetery where she was sexually abused, police said.
The victim told police she was in sixth grade when the abuse happened.
