Ricky Michael Jones is charged with criminal trespass, assault, and disturbing the peace.
At the bail hearing on Wednesday, Jones was represented by the Public Defender’s Office while Assistant Attorney General Erin Toolan appeared for the government.
Judge Camacho remanded Jones to the custody of the Department of Corrections and ordered him to return to court on Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. for the preliminary hearing and on Oct.19 at 9 a.m. for his arraignment.
Jones’s common-law wife told police that they had been separated for about three months.
She said whenever Jones would visit her place to see their children, she would leave and stay at her grandmother’s place in Papago.
On the morning of Sept. 27, 2020, she said she was shocked to see Jones at her house, drinking. She said he started to ask where she had been and when she refused to answer him, he got aggressive.
She said he started to talk louder and slammed the door twice before punching a wall.
Jones then threw a beer bottle on the floor, threatened to stab her and burn the house down, she said.
Jones also threatened to take her car and crash it and then cut her head off, she added.
The woman told police that it was not the first time that Jones got physical with her.
