Asfat Ali who is out on bail in connection with the January incident was charged with disturbing the peace and assault and battery.
His bail was set at $2,250.
Investigation showed that Ali and his wife went home after she appeared at the internet café.
At home, the two exchanged words and Ali slapped her, police said.
“On her way to the store to purchase items for her daughter, the victim passed by the café, met Ali, who immediately got angry at her for being there.
The two walked home together and began talking outside their home. It was at that point that Ali struck her on the left side of her face then left when she called police,” Detective Catherine B. Pangelinan told the court in a sworn affidavit.
