Police responded to a hit-and-run incident in San Antonio on Sunday evening.
THE Department of Public Safety is seeking the community’s assistance regarding an auto-pedestrian incident that claimed the life of a man on Tun Thomas P. Sablan Road in San Antonio by the Pakpak beach area.
On Sunday, Dec. 15, at 11:20 p.m., responding police officers arrived at the scene and discovered “a male individual without a pulse,” Assistant Chief of Police Simon Manacop said.
“Serious injuries were also observed on the person,” he added.
“Preliminary investigation confirms that the person was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, as officers found scattered debris from a vehicle not far from where the pedestrian was located. The pedestrian was later transported to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation, where he was pronounced dead at 12:37 a.m.,” Manacop said.
A family member has positively identified the victim, he added.
“DPS will not release the identity of the victim at this time. Investigators from the Highway Patrol Division are investigating this incident,” he said.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about it is asked to call the DPS Highway Patrol Division at (670) 664-9085, DPS headquarters at (670) 664-9001, or the Crime Stoppers Hotline at (670) 234-7272 if they wish to remain anonymous.
