A MAN and a seven-year-old girl were injured when two vehicles collided in As Lito yesterday morning.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Pete C. Muna said one of the drivers suffered a fractured right lower leg while the girl complained of pain on the shoulder and abdomen.
The other driver was not injured. One of the passengers—a one-year-old boy—was fine, Muna said.
He said a Rav 4 and a sedan collided on the road near the Commonwealth Ports Authority football field at 7 a.m.
Two ambulances were dispatched to the area. Emergency medical technicians assisted the victims before transporting them to the Commonwealth Health Center.
Muna said no other details were available.
In other news, a boat under repair at Lower Base dry rock was damaged and its two propellers worth $5,000 were stolen on Sunday night.
Muna said Vicente S. Iriarte, captain of Island Cruise Line boat, filed a theft and criminal mischief complaint.
Muna said Iriarte alleged that on Sunday night, someone damaged the main shafts of the boat and stole the propellers.
A worker left the boat in good condition after he and another employee made some repairs. When the two resumed working on the boat the next day, they discovered that the shafts were damaged and the propellers stolen.
The boat’s five glass windows were damaged. A pipe was also found on the boat.
In other news, investigators said the cause of the fire that razed BJ Garden Restaurant on Sunday morning was “unattended cooking.”
