Wilbur Vic Masga Inos entered a guilty plea to one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime during a hearing on Tuesday.
Inos signed a plea agreement with the government assisted by his lawyer Robert Torres. Assistant U.S. Attorney James Benedetto appeared on behalf of the federal government.
U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Alex R. Munson accepted Inos’s guilty plea.
Inos entered a not guilty plea during his arraignment in December last year.
He was indicted for one count of Hobbs Act Robbery and one count of using firearm in the commission of a crime of violence.
He robbed Rota Poker in Songsong, Rota in Aug. 2008, wearing a camouflaged outfit.
Police identified and arrested Inos after viewing footage from the security camera of Rota Poker.
Inos, the son of Rota’s mayor, later showed the police a green plastic bag containing the money he took from poker arcade, saying he did it because his son was in critical condition on Guam.
