Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja also sentenced Roberto M. De Guzman to six months imprisonment, all suspended except 21 days with credit for time served at the Department of Corrections facility.
De Guzman entered a plea of guilty to the lesser included offense of assault and battery.
The Attorney General’s Office earlier charged De Guzman with assault with a dangerous weapon, and disturbing the peace.
On Oct. 9, 2010, De Guzman hit Priscilla Corpuz Tadeo with a PVC pipe that resulted in contusions to her forehead and right arm, police said.
At the time, De Guzman was looking for Tadeo’s husband and was challenging him to a fight.
De Guzman was required to pay a $100 fine payable within one year, a $25 assessment fee payable within 60 days after release, and a $200 probation fee payable within two-year period.
He is barred from consuming alcohol during his probation, and he must complete 50 hours of community work service.
