Superior Court Judge Perry B. Inos set a $500 cash bail for Jeffrey Bonsol Manalo, 29.
Manalo did not remit cash collections amounting to more than $10,000, police said.
Detective Regino M. Celis Jr. stated in his affidavit that Manalo, an employee of Dr. Gene S. Eagle-Oden, was tasked to collect rental payments from the tenants of his employer’s apartments.
Between Nov. 2008 and July 2009, Manalo received more than $10,000 in rental payments, but did not remit the money to his office, police said.
Inos found Manalo to be indigent and ordered the Public Defender’s Office to represent him. He set Manalo’s arraignment for Sept. 21, while a preliminary hearing will be held on Wednesday.
