Man killed in car accident to be buried Nov. 3

Prayers are being offered at San Vicente church for Joselito Baysauli Falalimpa, 44, according to his employer, RNV Construction owner Ruel Villacrusis.

“We are taking care of  [Falalimpa’s] family,” Villacrusis told the Variety. Falalimpa left behind a wife and two children,  six and three years old, both girls.

In a statement, Department of Public Safety acting spokesman PO2 Jason Tarkong said the operator of the car that hit Falalimpa, a 25 year-old man, was cited for driving in excess of 45 miles per hour. The vehicle, a 2002 Toyota Rav-4, was towed and impounded as evidence.

Police said the driver of the car was driving on the southbound lane of Monsignor Martinez Road when Falalimpa appeared and ran in front of the vehicle, in attempting to cross the road from west to east.

Police said the driver swerved left and onto the northbound lane  to avoid the pedestrian. But the car still struck Falalimpa. The driver turned the car around to check on Falalimpa.

When DPS emergency personnel  arrived on the scene,  Falalimpa had no pulse and was no longer breathing.   Police said the case is still under investigation and a request was made to the Attorney General’s Office for an autopsy that will be performed on the deceased.
