POLICE arrested a 35-year-old man who allegedly broke into a room at a commercial building in Garapan and grabbed a person last Wednesday.
Herman M. Indalecio Jr. was held for burglary, assault and battery, disturbing the peace and kidnapping. A $10,000 cash bail was set for his temporary liberty.
Superior Court Associate Judge Robert Naraja set the preliminary hearing on April 5.
According to court papers, Xuan Liu Shi and her boyfriend, Guo Long Wong, were watching TV in their room when a man later identified as Indalecio entered at 2:20 a.m.
When the coupled asked the intruder what he was doing in the room, Indalecio suddenly embraced Guo and dragged him outside toward the hallway.
Guo asked his girlfriend to call the police. Indalecio released him and apologized. The suspect then ran away, but Guo chased him.
Meanwhile, Xuan flagged down a passing police vehicle, and the officer arrested Indalecio.
