Man pleads guilty to ice possession

Hong Wang, 28, with his court-appointed counsel Joseph James Norita Camacho, made the plea bargain agreement with Assistant Attorney General Peter Prestley in March.

Under that agreement, the government is dropping charges of trafficking of a controlled substance, conspiracy to commit trafficking of a controlled substance and child neglect against Wang.

In exchange, Wang will serve 18 months in prison, without parole, with credit for time served.

He will pay a fine of $2,000, cooperate with law enforcement authorities and testify truthfully at any hearings or trials against persons or businesses to which he sold, traded, bartered, exchanged, gave, donated or otherwise transferred goods in exchange for cash and/or controlled substances.

Police arrested Wang on July 20, 2010 on Saipan and found in his possession crystal methamphetamine or ice.
