The sentencing stems from a plea agreement entered into between Pua and the federal government in which the defendant agreed to plead guilty to possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, in violation of Title 18, United States Code Section 922(g)(1).
Chief Judge Alex Munson sentenced Pua to 24 months of imprisonment in a federal correctional institute to be followed by three years of supervised release.
Pua is awaiting relocation to a mainland federal facility pending designation by the United States Bureau of Prisons.
The case was investigated by agents from the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney James J. Benedetto.
