Man who sold fake Viagra enters into plea bargain with feds

U.S. Assistant Attorney Eric O’Malley said  Wei Yuan Ou is pleading guilty to one count of misbranding of a food product which carries a maximum penalty of one year imprisonment.

He will be sentenced on July 15, said O’Malley.

Wei Yuan Ou appeared in his plea hearing at the federal court yesterday with his court-appointed counsel Steven Woodruff before Designated Judge Robert Naraja.

On two separate dates in February, an undercover agent of the Food and Drug Administration bought 29 pieces of fake Viagra from Wei Yuan Ou at Ming Li Store.

The defendant was selling the fake drug for $5 each.

The real Viagra sells much higher and can be bought only through prescription.
