The male burglary and theft suspect
THE Department of Public Safety is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying a man and a woman involved in two burglary and theft incidents reported to DPS on Saturday, Aug. 31.
Assistant Chief of Police Simon Manacop said the first incident occurred at the Women, Infants & Children administrative office on upper Navy Hill. At about 6:15 a.m., a security officer assigned to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation was monitoring surveillance cameras when he noticed two people removing tires from a white Ford pickup truck that was parked at the WIC office.
Manacop said officers “who arrived at the scene within minutes, found the pickup truck with all four tires removed and stolen. The…officers later recovered two of the tires in a nearby jungle area during a search for the suspects.”
The suspects were “described as a female wearing a black shirt, black pants and a black hat, and the other being a male with no shirt and using only camouflage short pants,” Manacop said.

The second incident was reported at about 10:49 a.m. at the CTSI storage facility on Industrial Drive in Puerto Rico.
“Employees who arrived at work discovered tools that were scattered inside the facility. Three heavy equipment truck batteries were also taken from inside the facility and moved to a break area outside. Surveillance recording revealed that a lone female wearing a black shirt, black pants and a black hat, entered the facility thru the main gate at 5:53 a.m. The same person left the facility at 6 a.m., successfully stealing one Napa brand heavy equipment truck battery,” Manacop said.
These cases are under investigation. It is believed that both incidents were committed by the same people, Manacop said.
