Manager: Tinian Diamond Casino ‘doing well’

SINCE it opened on Nov. 29, 2023, Tinian Diamond Casino has been “doing well,” casino manager Michael Mascio said on Tuesday.

Owned by Bridge Investment Group, the casino secured its gaming license from the Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission five years ago.

Mascio said the casino opened its doors at 10 a.m. on Nov. 29, and held an official “opening event” at 3 p.m. on Nov. 30.

He said among their guests were CNMI officials, business owners and local residents.

Also present was one of the casino board members, Eric Wang.

Tinian Mayor Edwin P. Aldan was on Guam that day so he was not able to attend the opening event.

“The casino is doing well so far,” Mascio said, adding that they have 15 employees.

The casino games include baccarat, black jack and slot machines. The casino also has roulettes tables, but they are still in the process of hiring dealers who will man those gambling operations, Mascio  said.

Located at the island’s harbor, the Tinian Diamond Casino was constructed a couple of years ago under the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. For the last five years, the casino investor has been paying the Tinian gaming commission $500,000 in annual license fee and a $2,000 service industry fee.

In September, the Tinian Municipal Treasury received $500,000 in casino license fee for fiscal year 2024 plus the $2,000 service industry fee, the $5,000 casino key employee fee and the $750 casino employee license fee.
