The manamko’, he added, can now replace their broken bingo machine.
The Senior Citizens Advisory Council has been soliciting funds and initiating projects to buy a new bingo machine, he said.
But Pacific Amusement Inc. was kind enough to provide the seniors with the machine.
“We are very fortunate to have this new bingo machine,” Manglona said.
Office on Aging Director Rose Mondala is attending a conference in the U.S.
Manglona said they will keep the old bingo machine in the stockroom and use it as a “backup.”
Pacific Amusement Inc. general manager James Gebhard, along with his wife Jum, turned over the bingo machine yesterday.
The machine is worth $7,000, including freight and handling fees, and was brought from the states, Gebhard said.
“We like to help a lot,” he added.
The bingo machine has pre-programmed games and players can select 30 different kinds of games, Gebhard said.
Pacific Amusement Inc. has been doing business on Guam and Saipan since 1994 and is one of the regular sponsors and donors of the Aging Center.
Teri Sorroza, Senior Citizens Advisory Council president, said Pacific Amusement also gave them a complete dart equipment, trophies and a pool table.
“Everybody is happy and I hope they will care take of these items,” Sorroza said.
The Gebhard couple is also planning to treat senior citizens to a special lunch.
Jum Gebhard said they have been doing the same in Thailand where they also prepare food for the elderly.
“I like cooking food,” she added.
