“It’s nice to be out once in awhile,” said Nakatsukasa who has been a regular at the Aging Center since 2006.
She said there are a lot of fun activities they can’t do at the Aging Center.
Last Friday, Office of the Aging acting director Walter Manglona brought the senior citizens to Kilili Beach Park.
“We thought of changing the venue once in a while to keep them in touch with nature,” Manglona said.
Their program, which started at 10 a.m. and ended at 1:30 p.m., featured a music presentation, a dance contest and games.
Manglona wants to make the “fun in the sun picnic” a monthly event for the manamko’.
Nakatsukasa thanked Manglona for the interesting programs he introduced to the manamko’.
Teresita Sorroza, Senior Citizens Advisory Council president, said she would like to see more outdoor activities.
“The manamko’ enjoyed the picnic so much. We love the fresh air,” she said.
Sorroza also expressed her appreciation for Manglona.
“Our acting director is very caring. He reports early at the center, talks to the staff, the driver and to everybody. He listens to our problems and complaints,” she said.
