The show will feature standup comedy and a concert of the manamko’ band, he said.
Manglona said the manamko’ will showcase traditional and contemporary dances and other performances.
“We have several talented members here. They will sing and play musical instruments” he said.
In 2009, the manamko’ starred in the movie “The Enchantrees” which was produced and directed by Manglona.
This year’s show is part of the fundraising event of the manamko’ for their different projects at the center.
The manamko’, through consultation with their advisory council, are planning to buy a new bingo machine, computers and recreational equipment.
Next week, Manglona said the senior citizens will start selling the ticket at $10 each for the show that will be held at the multi-purpose center in May.
Manglona encouraged the community to help the manamko’ accomplish their goals.
He is hoping community members will show up for the show.
In the past, he noted, all the tickets were sold but only few showed up for the show.
“It’s a sad thing in the past that after the manamko’ practiced and worked hard, people didn’t show up for their show,” he said.
Manglona said they will also hold the search for the mamamko’ king and queen this year.
At least 13 have already signified their interest to join the contest: six for king and seven for queen.
In this contest, the manamko’ will be selling tickets at $1 each.
The grand prize is $500, the baby grand prize $250 and there will be consolation prizes.
The raffle draw will be on June 1.
