“But we should continue testing,” he added.
Apatang said Gov. Ralph DLG Torres and the Covid-19 Task Force are doing a great job in preventing the spread of the virus in the CNMI.
The numbers speak for themselves, the mayor said, adding that the governor and his task force are working hard to ensure the safety of the public amid a global pandemic.
But Apatang said the CNMI also needs to reopen its economy so the government can generate funds for critical public services.
However, he added, “protecting our health remains the priority, and this is why the government is continuing its community-based testing,” the mayor said, as he urged his constituents to get tested.
Meanwhile, Apatang said his office is helping to prepare the island for the return of tourists through the beautification program and cleanups at parks and roads.
