Mayor Donald G. Flores said they started the cleanup in the area since Friday when CNMI celebrated Earth Day.
Aside from clearing roadside bushes, his personnel also planted flowers along the road.
Flores said his office will start removing junk vehicles next month, which is a campaign that will be coordinated with the Zoning Office and recycling companies Basula Producto and Saipan Triple Star.
The mayor’s office will soon announce a schedule for the removal of junk cars in the villages.
Flores said their first focus may be the Kagman area.
His extension office in Lower Base has already prepared the two boom trucks for the campaign, he added.
