Melchor begins his role as director today, Oct. 3.
Speaker Eli Cabrera, R-Saipan, said with Melchor’s appointment, the LB’s professional services to the members of the Senate and House will continue.
“Melchor brings with him 18 years of professional legislative experience, the regard of colleagues from the LB and officials who know him to be an honorable and capable man, and a cunning sense of humor,” Cabrera said.
Prior to his appointment, Melchor served as a senior legislative assistant for three years and 14 years as a legislative assistant with the Legislative Bureau, and offices of senators and representatives. He is highly involved in his community, serving as a member of the PTSA and the Marianas Public Land Trust board.
“I am delighted that Melchor accepted the role as director. He has contributed very significantly to the needed professional services of the Senate and House. He is always bringing enthusiasm and creativity to his work. I wish him every success in his new role,” said Rep. Fred Deleon Guerrero, Ind.-Saipan.
Cabrera expresses his sincere gratitude to Glenna Reyes for her services and efforts to ensure that work productivity of the Senate and House of Representatives are met.
“Thank you for your service and I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors,” he told Reyes.
