Minors break into CHC

A BOY broke into one of the rooms at the Commonwealth Health Center and stole money from a woman last Wednesday.

Arceli Lizama, 43, marketing officer of the Asia Pacific Express, told the police that the boy stole $540 from her.

Lizama fell asleep while attending to her husband who was confined in the hospital. She was awakened by the noise in the room and was surprised to see the boy near her side.

The boy ran. Lizama chased him and yelled for help from nurses. Nurses and security guards searched the premises, but they could not locate the boy.

The victim said she learned from hospital staff and security guards that the boy was accompanied by two other juveniles.

Lizama said that night, the suspects also stole $150 from a room located in front of their room.

The suspects tried to break into another room, but failed because the occupants were awake at the time.

Lizama and other patients want to know why the minors managed to get inside the hospital despite the presence of security guards and CHC’s strict visiting policy.
