SUPERIOR Court Judge Kenneth L. Govendo sentenced Minyan Jiang, also known as “Sister,” to 10 years’ imprisonment, all suspended except for four years.
The sentence will be served day for day without the possibility of parole, early release, weekend release, or other similar programs, according to a four-page judgment and commitment order issued on March 20, 2025.
Jiang was also given credit for time already served since Nov. 15, 2024. She will be released from the custody of the Department of Corrections on Nov. 15, 2028, at 8 a.m.
After serving her sentence, Jiang will be placed under supervised probation for five years. She shall pay a $600 probation fee and undergo an evaluation at the Community Guidance Center for drug and alcohol treatment, as well as mental health services. If counseling is recommended, Jiang must complete all counseling and treatment.
She was also ordered to pay a $100 court fee.
Jiang, who was represented by Assistant Public Defender Charlene Brown, pled guilty to the charge of trafficking of a controlled substance. Chief Prosecutor Chester Hinds appeared for the government.
Last year, during a buy-walk operation conducted by the Department of Public Safety-Drug Enforcement Task Force, Jiang, 61, sold methamphetamine to an informant on June 25, 26, and 28. She sold a total of $180 worth of methamphetamine, weighing 1.88 grams.
The task force operatives also field-tested the crystalline substance obtained from Jiang on three occasions, and it tested positive for methamphetamine.
