Search organizer Sharmain Casquero said this year, the committee is focusing on community services, and the proceeds from the Miss Earth Diva 2009 search will benefit Beautify CNMI!
“We have tied up with Beautify CNMI!, the Hard Rock Café under its assistant general manager Aldwin Cullat and the Filipino Hairstylists Association of CNMI for this event,” Casquero said during the gay competition’s launching night at the Hard Rock Café on Saturday.
This year’s theme is “Save the planet, care for the environment.”
Casquero said among the highlights of this year’s Miss Earth Diva search is the best in nature costume competition.
“In the Miss Diva 2007, the winning nature costume was patterned after shells and seaweeds. This year, we are expecting more creative outcomes from our designers,” Casquero said.
The talent competition is set for April 18 and the coronation night will be held on April 25 at the Hard Rock Café in Garapan.
The Miss Earth Diva CNMI search is in its second year, according to Casquero. The first search was in May 2007 but they were not able to hold one last year.
Casquero said the search is a showcase of inner beauty, versatility and creativity.
The contestants will compete for the following titles — Miss Earth Diva 2009, Miss Air Diva 2009, Miss Water Diva 2009 and Miss Fire Diva 2009.
The contestants will be competing in the best in nature costume, best in talent, best in interview, best in swimsuit and best in evening gown competitions.
The pre-pageant special awards are Miss Congeniality, Miss Photogenic and Miss Press Choice.
