The consignment had two tons of taro in 200 bags. The first consignment was sent at the beginning of the month and consisted of 1.5 tons, which was bound for customers in Auckland and Wellington.
New Zealand sales of Atiu taro are proving just as successful as the Rarotonga market.
The initiative arose through the efforts of Aitutaki MP Teina Bishop and Atiu island secretary Man Unuia.
