More volunteers for Rota Aging Center revitalization project

On Wednesday, she said Continental/Cape Air personnel led by Rota station manager Calista T. Pendergrass assisted in painting and cleaning the building.

“This is one of Cape Air’s community outreach programs to serve the community of Rota,” she said.

She said they continue to encourage volunteers to help them complete the project.

Barcinas said they are also awaiting word from local leaders regarding the replacement of the building’s air-conditioning units that are already out of service.

She said they are also hoping local leaders will provide them with two new vehicles.

“Our manamko’ management and staff send their prayers and blessings to all volunteers who in one way or another helped us revitalized the Aging Center building,” she said.

Department of Community and Cultural Affairs Secretary Melvin Faisao and Office on Aging Director Rose Mondala made the project possible, she added.

Barcinas said those who extended services for the partial completion of the project are the 13th Rota Municipal Council, the Rota Mayor’s Office, 17th Rota Legislative Delegation, DCCA Resident Director Henry S. Atalig, Fidel Mendiola Jr. and the Public School System.
