On Friday, Harry Speicher of Pacific Lineman Training from Hawaii presented to the media the seven CUC personnel who completed the two-year course training and are now fully certified professional linemen.
Muna said the training developed the skills of the linemen.
“This is a great beginning and hopefully this won’t be the last time we will be doing it,” he said.
The linemen, he added, invested much of their time and worked hard to complete the training.
“We really appreciate that they stuck with the training. This is a win-win situation for CUC and the employees.”
Muna said CUC is determined to offer the training program to all its personnel in the power, water and wastewater divisions so they can be certified professionals.
This will allow CUC to deliver its services in a “proper, safe and efficient” way, which is also beneficial to cusotmers, he added.
Speicher, along with Muna and CUC Assistant Executive Director Utu Abe Malae, distributed the certificates of completion to Johnny Santos, Fred C. Lizama, Redson R. Herwin, Jose M. Manibusan, Henry F. Rabauliman, Al N. Mahora and Richard B. Cruz.
Speicher said these linemen diligently attended the two-week sessions every two months. There were eight two-week sessions conducted.
This November, nine more linemen will be certified upon their completion of the program’s requirements, Speicher said.
The training provided is tailored for the Pacific islands and was started three years ago in American Samoa with Malae, he added.
