Neighborhood Watch Inc. now registered

“If we engage in a partnership with the national organization we will become even stronger and will have a better chance of getting federal grants,” he said.

Diaz said it will be easy for the local program to be supported by federal grants now that it is an official organization.

Neighborhood Watch Inc.’s officers are Frank B. Camacho, chairman; Sebastian Tajibmai, vice chairman; and Rose Ada-Hocog, secretary-treasurer.

The  Neighborhood Watch Task Force is the implementing agency of Neighborhood Watch Inc.’s programs, which include the revitalization of villages.

Diaz said this is very important to help maintain the island’s cleanliness and discourage thieves from turning abandoned houses or buildings into  their “havens.”

“All villages should take part on this program,” he added.

Last week, community members from different villages took their oath as new members of the Neighborhood Watch Task Force.
