New appointments made

Martin C. Sablan will be the acting secretary of DPW.

The governor said Sablan’s appointment will remain in effect until he names a nominee for the position.

“Please extend your full cooperation and assistance to Mr. Sablan as he assumes these responsibilities as the acting secretary,” the governor said in a memorandum to government agencies.

Sablan, for his part, appointed Sevio T. Chargualaf Jr. as the acting building safety officer.

In a separate memorandum, the governor named Mathilde  A. Rosario acting director of OPM until the return of the agency’s chief.

Rosario used to head  OPM before she was assigned to the governor’s administrative section.

Separately, Fitial appointed Diego C. Blanco to serve as a member of the Strategic Economic Development Council.

“I have high confidence in Mr. Blanco’s experience, leadership and management abilities. However, to ensure his success as a member of the SEDC, I am asking you to please extend your full cooperation to Mr. Blanco as he takes on this additional responsibility,” Fitial said.
