Dance instructor Sharmaine Casquero said the Saipan Performing Music & Arts School will be located at the back of the ASKS Beauty Saloon near the Bank of Guam in Garapan.
“We are completing all the necessary permits and paperwork needed to start the school and we are hoping to formally open the dance school by Friday (Oct. 22),” Casquero said.
The dance school will cater mostly to children after school hours.
“We will be teaching ballroom, hip-hop and modern dances for kids for now but later we will open the classes to teenagers and adults,” Casquero said.
She said they are focused on providing quality training.
“We want to produce the best students and hone the talents in our little kids,” she said.
Halloween show
Casquero is also inviting the community to watch the recital of the students from the first Youth Dance Clinic which was held in partnership with the Pacific Wellness Center and the Project Impact dance crew at the Hard Rock Café on Oct. 30.
The Final Destination dance crew members will showcase their talents in hip-hop and street dancing along with the first batch of students who attended the classes from Aug. 16 to Sept. 3.
The “Thriller” Halloween event at the Hard Rock Café will be a tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and prizes will be given to guests who will wear the best Halloween costumes.
“There will be lots of fun and entertainment from our local talents during the show which will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and we want everybody to come and enjoy,” Casquero said.
Entrance fee is $5 inclusive of one drink. For more information, call Casquero at 233-2643.
