“This nomination requires the advice and consent of the Senate. If confirmed, he will serve the unexpired term of Ms. Linsa F. Lizama, which will expire on Nov. 14, 2009,” the governor said in his letter to the Legislature.
He said Taitano will be an asset to the board, the governing body of NMC.
“The lt. governor and I are confident that you are qualified and will be an asset to this important board. If my office can be of any assistance relative to your confirmation, please let me know. Your willingness to serve our people is most appreciated,” Fitial told the nominee in a separate letter.
Taitano must submit his resumé, statement of financial interests, drug test receipt and results to the Senate, which is scheduled to hold a session on Thursday.
