The governor said Lt. Gov. Eloy Inos’ legal counsel, Teresa Kim, will be the acting press secretary until a new appointment is made.
Demapan was introduced to the press last Jan. 14 during a news briefing.
He replaced Press Secretary Charles P. Reyes Jr. who moved to the U.S. Census Bureau before the Nov. 7, 2009 general elections.
Reyes was the governor’s spokesman throughout his first four-year term.
Demapan is a former Youth Congress speaker. He enlisted in the Hawaii Army National Guard in 2007 and is a communications major graduate from Hawaii.
