New Year’s countdown at Hard Rock Café draws big crowd

The countdown, which was a first for Hard Rock Café, was a huge success, according to assistant manager Aldwin Cullat.

He said the economic did not deter the community from joining the festivities.

Hard Rock Café offered free drinks and appetizers to guests, which included couples, families and groups of locals and tourists who chose to greet the New Year away from their homes.

The guests were entertained by the Frozen Nipple Band, special dance numbers from Final Extreme, the second placer in the CNMI Best Dance Crew competition, and a masquerade show that featured “diva” performers.

At exactly 12 midnight, colorful confetti fell as toasts were made for a prosperous year.

Hard Rock Café is also supporting “World Hunger Year” by selling hand bands for a dollar.

“We are encouraging everybody to drop by and buy a hand band to help support the fight against world hunger,” Cullat said.
