“Barring any major changes, the NMC board of regents expects to name the next president of Northern Marianas College real soon,” said Board Chairman Juan T. Lizama.
According to Lizama, the Regents have extensively deliberated its options and will be making a decision they feel best serves the students, faculty, staff and the community.
“Selecting the next college president is one of the most important decisions we will make as a board,” said Lizama. “We know that the search process has had its challenges and we appreciate everyone’s patience and support as we work through them in a methodical, careful manner.”
Adams was one of the three candidates advanced by the Presidential Search Committee led by Regent Andrew Orsini. The other candidates included Dr. Sharon Hart and Dr. Jeff Armstrong.
Adams withdrew her application last April, but expressed interest again in the position recently.
Hart and Armstrong have turned down NMC’s offer.
“Although Dr. Adams withdrew her application from the search process, we still have the utmost respect for her and her impressive credentials and wish her the best.” Lizama added.
