NMC conducts weeklong book sale

The book sale, which ended on Friday, earned a few hundred dollars. Majority of the buyers are students.

The price range of each book was $1 to $5.

According to David Peter Apatang, administrative assistant at NMC’s bookstore, the items on sale were considered “obsolete” and “old editions.”

“These are overstocked books and we’re just trying to get rid of them because they occupy a big space in our storage,” he said.

Because not even half of the of books were sold during the weeklong event, NMC will donate the rest of them to public schools, community groups and centers.

Apatang said “this time we are going to keep it balanced, which means we will just order the number of books that are actually needed.”

He noted the “many improvements” at their bookstore which was among the areas identified by the accrediting commission that needs improvement and proper control by the NMC management.

Recently, a law was signed to provide $25,000 to NMC so it can renovate its book store.
