NMC Dean of Student Services Leo Pangelinan and business instructor Rik Villegas were recognized for their hard work and dedication during the training seminar, she said.
Cabrera said she received a letter from training facilitator Maura Reynolds, citing the skills and determination of Pangelinan and Villegas.
“Leo and Rik’s dedication to Northern Marianas College, your students, and the improvement of academic advising on your campus was impressive,” Reynolds told Cabrera.
At the institute, Pangelinan and Villegas participated in work groups with faculty and staff in the academic advising field from other schools across the nation.
The training, organized by the non-profit National Academic Advising Association, aimed at promoting and supporting quality academic advising in institutions of higher education, and to enhance the educational development of students, Cabrera said.
