“We will continue to provide the high-caliber services that students and the community expect from the college,” Pangelinan said.
He said this semester, the college will have a new position — the first year programs manager.
The position, he added, will be funded by an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant to develop and execute programs for new students and build a stronger affiliation between students and support programs.
Pangelinan said the program will include pairing students with peers and career professional mentors. “We are excited for this upcoming semester.”
According to Pangelinan, the Associated Students of NMC and the Office of Student Activities and Leadership will also develop and promote events “to engage students with campus life, diversity, and opportunities for experiential learning outside the classroom.”
As of Wednesday, approximately 800 students had already registered for the Spring 2010 semester.
Pangelina said admission and registration will be extended to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
Registration on this date will be limited only to students who have English and math placement levels, he added.
Pangelinan reminded students that the registration operations in Room D-1 will close at 12 noon on Saturday, Jan. 16.
Thereafter, students must visit the Financial Aid Office, Office of Admissions and Records, and the Finance Office to process their registration forms after meeting with an academic advisor, he said.
