NMC will a present the college’s annual performance report during the public hearing on Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. at the college’s south field adjacent to the college gym.
“This will be the first time the college will be communicating its institutional effectiveness report with the community,” NMC President Carmen Fernandez said yesterday. “We hope many people attend this historic event.”
Fernandez said the college leadership is excited to share some of the college’s accomplishments over the past year with the community.
“We will also be sharing some of the challenges that we continue to face and are working to overcome,” she added.
The report will be presented in accordance with 3 CMC 1316(q), which requires NMC to provide a hearing “for the purpose of making the college’s work known and investigating and assessing the needs and role of the college in the commonwealth.”
The recommendations and comments will be reviewed and considered during the college’s Strategic Planning Summit in November.
Written comments will be accepted by the office of the NMC president until Oct. 9.
“Even more important, we look forward to receiving input about what role the college can play in meeting higher educational needs in the CNMI,” Fernandez said.
The college will carefully evaluate these submissions and incorporate them while working on NMC’s long-term strategic plan, she added.
During the public hearing on Sept. 25, NMC will also hold its accreditation celebration with Gov. Benigno R. Fitial and other government officials as their guests.
There will be lunch and entertainment numbers presented by NMC students, Variety learned yesterday.
“We are thankful for the community’s support while the college was working toward accreditation reaffirmation, and the celebration is one of the ways to show our gratitude,” Fernandez said.
