Recently, they conducted a Saipan senatorial straw poll and group member Steve Brownstein said Rep. Tina Sablan received the most number of votes.
“Some believe that Tina is the only candidate worth voting for,” the group stated in its press release.
According to Brownstein, some of the members said they voted for Sablan because “she does not like the way the government has been run.”
But Brownstein noted that their poll is not scientific and is informal.
The other Saipan senatorial candidates are Senate President Pete P. Reyes (R), Rep. Ralph DLG. Torres (R), Rep. Justo S. Quitugua (D), former Rep. Ana S. Teregeyo (Covenant), Labor Undersecretary Cinta M. Kaipat (Covenant), Taotao Tano leader Greg Cruz (Ind.) and Paul DLG. Camacho (Ind.).
According to its online profile, Google group Team CNMI has 30 members.
The group aims to be recognized as an important part of the political process of the CNMI, Brownstein said.
