Taisha Carmen D. Reyes graduated magna cum laude from Washington State University in December.
TAISHA Carmen D. Reyes, a Grace Christian Academy alumna, graduated magna cum laude on Dec. 9, 2023 from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology.
A daughter of former Department of Public Works Secretary John S. “Liling” Reyes and Leticia Reyes of Gualo Rai, Taisha plans to study further in a school of medicine.
Her parents said they are proud of Taisha, who is “a go-getter child — she always puts her mind into focus whatever plan she develops. She always perseveres but is always humble when facing challenges. Sometimes she is hard on herself, but resilient to whatever the outcome is. Our wish and prayer is for her to be happy. We also want her to know that we, her parents, are always on her side to protect, help and guide her.”
Taisha, for her part, said she is “immensely grateful” to her parents for their “unwavering support, sacrifices, and endless love” throughout her college journey.
“Their guidance has been my anchor, and I am thankful for the opportunities they have provided me,” she added. “To my professors, thank you for your knowledge, mentorship, and encouragement, shaping my academic path and fostering a love for learning.”
“Lastly,” she said, “to my friends who stood by me through challenges and triumphs, your camaraderie and laughter have enriched my college experience beyond measure. I am blessed to have such a remarkable support system, and I owe my success to each of you.”
