Northern Marianas Technical Institute personnel clean up a classroom flooded by heavy rains on Friday.
THE Northern Marianas Technical Institute is temporarily closed as it deals with flooding brought by heavy rains on Friday, according to a memorandum from Jodina Attao, NMTech chief executive officer.
Attao said the campus in Lower Base is temporarily closed from Monday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Nov. 1.
All classes and on-campus activities are suspended. Meetings scheduled for the closure period are canceled.
“This closure ensures the safety of our students, faculty, and staff, as well as allows us to assess and address the damage … caused by the flooding,” Attao said.
The closure period may be extended if necessary, she added.
Students are encouraged to monitor emails and the official social media of NMTech regarding the reopening of the school campus. A follow-up notice will be issued if the school can be opened sooner than anticipated.
